Kareena Kapoor Sister
They belonged to filmdom’s royal family. As grandchildren of the brilliant Raj Kapoor, Karishma and Kareena Kapoor lived and breathed films since they were young girls. Quite naturally, the two sisters had no doubts about the career path they wanted to take – it was movies all the way for them.Interestingly, there’s been no sibling rivalry between the two, not even professionally. Karishma, who was the first sister to enter the big bad world of films, started off as a gauche, overdressed, badly made up star in inane movies, but some of them did succeed in hitting the target at the box office. She then found success with a fresher look and style. She loves talking about her younger sister, as it is evident from her many interviews. In an interview with Rediff, notably, Karishma stated ‘Kareena is my baby sister. I definitely don’t mind stepping aside for her sake. To me, her success is very important. Kareena is good enough to survive any competition, including her sister.’Kareena seems to have taken her elder sister’s hopes seriously, because her prowess has been noted right from her debut movie Refugee (2000). Since then, it’s been a series of recognitions, one after the other for the diva. With movies like Chameli (2003) and Omkara (2006), she’s displayed her talent for histrionics. Given their collective success, the Kapoor sisters have surely written their own chapter in the story of the Kapoor clan. The lack of professional and ego clashes between the sisters also proves the love and respect that they hold for each other.
